Espacios disímiles en contextos diferentes; ambos envueltos en un aura persistente que no abandona su esencia industrial. De fábrica a parque, aunque del primero solo perdure la memoria de lo que fue y lo que es hoy. Sin duda, en ambos casos, un espacio contenedor de producción —antes textil, ahora cultural y tecnológico— donde Drift Echoes es una fracción entre presente y pasado vigente en lo material, conceptual y espacial. Junto a la Estación de Sants, el Parque de la España Industrial acoge y despide con gentileza a aquellos que vienen y van; un parque en el cual los arquitectos Luis Peña Ganchegui, Antón Pagola y Montserrat Ruiz articularon el espacio a través de los cuatro elementos naturales primordiales: aire, fuego, tierra y agua. Los cuatro elementos se entrelazan en la arquitectura, dando forma al cuerpo humano en su búsqueda de desarrollo, donde la liberación física, en su modalidad más formal y lúdica, se convierte en sendero hacia la plenitud. En referencia a este último elemento mencionado con anterioridad —el agua—, Ganchegui destaca que este se alza como el protagonista indiscutible en la composición del parque, eclipsando a los demás elementos con su presencia dominante. En consecuencia, la superficie acuosa es imaginada como unas termas modernas custodiadas por Neptuno, y el agua, que en parte articula el recinto, es más que un mero elemento; pues es parte de la esencia misma de esta exposición. Indudablemente, la extensión del agua es notable, sin embargo, llama la atención la completa falta de vida más allá de algunos organismos acuáticos básicos, sin ningún indicio de peces. De este modo, esta exposición y su relato explora una evolución que se desplaza al margen de lo corpóreo, abrazando una transformación en el ámbito conceptual mediante tres piezas pisciformes —Opus spicatum (Hope), Petri dish, Chronotope—. En ellas se vertebra el pasado del Parque de la España Industrial como fábrica y su aspecto postindustrial haciendo énfasis en su valor de lucha como el eco del anhelo perpetuo de avanzar, de redefinir la esencia del trabajo con cada paso.
